Day 1
I woke up early on Thursday morning with butterflies in my stomach. In just a few hours I would be on a plane headed to Jamaica for my Interac interview. I double checked that I had packed the most important documents especially the display I had created for my demo lesson. I definitely couldn’t leave without that.
The drive to the airport was uneventful. I’ve flown so many times now that it’s all pretty routine. Other than a little hiccup with immigration involving my belt and a zip lock bag everything was fine. I was pleased to find out that my flight would be less than half full. In fact I ended up being the only one in my entire row, which meant comfort. I could stretch out and relax for the next 3 hours.

I landed in Jamaica to find that a lot of things, especially the airport, have changed over the last five years. I stayed at a small hotel in Kingston, which was just a 5 minute walk from the seminar. The small room was more than adequate for my use and the staff was very friendly. Continue reading
